Trouble Setting Up Apple Pay on My New iPhone

I'm from Australia and currently with Commonwealth Bank. I recently switched from an iPhone 11 Pro Max to an iPhone 12, and I'm having trouble linking my card to Apple Pay. When I try, I keep getting an error message saying, "Could not set up Apple Pay - An error occurred while setting up Apple Pay." I've already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps, including changing regions, resetting all my settings, force restarting my phone, reinstalling the Wallet app, making sure my iOS is up to date (26.2), signing in and out of my Apple account, and confirming that my bank supports Apple Pay (which it does). It worked fine on my previous phone, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Any ideas?

Have you checked if there could be a compatibility issue with your current carrier or if there are any network settings you need to adjust? Sometimes, even minor settings can affect Apple Pay setup. Also, double-check your region settings see if everything is set correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look into the network settings and see if that helps.
