I'm on the hunt for the best free and open-source media applications for Ubuntu. I'm looking for recommendations for video players, music players, and eBook readers. What do you all suggest?

When it comes to media apps, it really depends on what you need. For videos, check out MPV. It's really versatile and works well with different desktop environments if you're using the GUI versions. For music, I swear by Fooyin; it’s stable and has a layout you can customize to your liking, though it’s not quite equal to foobar2000. As for reading books, I don’t have a favorite reader, but go with whatever comes with your distro.

Thanks for the insight! I'm definitely going to give MPV a try.

For books, I’d recommend Koreader or Okular. They both work pretty well. For music, I prefer Audacious; it’s straightforward and gets the job done. And for videos, VLC is a classic choice. There are tons of options, so pick what feels best for you!

Thanks! I’ll check those out.
