What are the best PDF readers for Linux?

I'm currently using Xreader on Linux Mint, but it's really slow when I'm trying to search through large PDF documents like TTRPG rulebooks because it unloads pages that I'm not actively viewing. Does anyone have suggestions for a PDF reader that loads the entire document at once or at least operates more quickly? Thanks!

If you still want options, MasterPDF is another one; it offers JavaScript support and editing features, but it's paid software. Just a heads up!

Plus, with Okular, you can set it to 'aggressive' memory usage, which loads the full PDF or larger chunks, making searches way faster.

Okular is a solid choice! It's fast, supports tabs, and doesn’t use up too many resources. I think you'll find it handles large documents better.

Absolutely! It checks off all the boxes for my requirements without hassle.

Zathura is great too, but it’s quite minimalistic—might not have all the features you’re looking for if you prefer something a bit more comprehensive.
