Hey folks! I spotted a blue microphone icon in my Windows taskbar and I'm curious about what it means. Does it indicate that my microphone is currently active or in use? I shared a screenshot in the comments for reference.

The blue microphone icon means that one of your applications is using your mic. It doesn't necessarily mean it's actively recording, though. For example, if you have Discord open and it’s set to push-to-talk, the icon will show up even if there's no audio being transmitted. If you click on the icon, it should take you to a settings page where you can see which app is using your microphone.
I shut down my laptop and started it again, but the mic icon disappeared. Does that mean anything? I had all the mic apps closed before shutting down.
