What Happens After My Apple Account Recovery Wait Period?

I recently went through the Apple account recovery process and was told I need to wait 4 days to update my phone number. I received a note that I will get instructions sent to my phone once the time is up. Can anyone tell me what steps I need to take after those days are up? Will I be able to access my account freely, or are there restrictions until I follow the instructions? Thanks!

You won’t be able to access your account any sooner than the time they specified. Just keep an eye on iforgot.apple.com to see your remaining wait time. On the final day, you’ll receive either a text or a call with instructions. Make sure to follow those right away! If you don’t hear anything, don’t worry; once the 4 days are up, you can go to apple.com/recover and follow the prompts to regain access to your account. Good luck!
