I'm looking for recommendations on a suitable Linux distribution for my Lenovo G480 laptop, which has a 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and an Intel Celeron 1000M processor running at 1.8GHz. I want it to be user-friendly and avoid using Arch-based distros. I've previously tried Ubuntu-based options, but they've had issues with my wifi. I also gave Nobara a shot, but it feels pretty sluggish on my machine.

If you're looking for something lightweight, MX Linux is a solid choice. It's pretty easy to set up and works well on older hardware. Just a heads up, you might need to sort out any wifi issues with Network Manager and wpa_supplicant if you encounter them.

Ooohhh that's interesting, I'll try it later, thanks!
