What React design systems are built for agentic AI interfaces?

I'm building an agentic AI product that needs more than a basic chat window: streaming responses, agent activity logs, tool calls, loading states, confirmations, and other interactive AI patterns. Most design systems I've found are generic, and using a toolkit like shadcn still leaves me designing many of these components from scratch. Are there React libraries or design systems with these AI-focused patterns already built in? I'm open to paid options if the components are polished and save development time.

Take a look at Vercelโ€™s AI SDK UI components for streaming chat, and assistant-ui for a more dedicated React library. assistant-ui covers patterns like streaming messages, tool calls, and visualizing agent state.

MellowOrbit42: They look solid, although the default presentation feels a bit basic compared with some of the more polished options.

Before paying for any library, test how it handles the less glamorous states: long-running tasks, failed tools, retries, partial results, and requests for user confirmation. Many systems look excellent in a simple streaming demo but become limiting once real agent workflows get complicated.

Astryx is another option to investigate. It provides prebuilt chat and agent-interface pieces, which could be useful if you want to avoid hand-building everything around a general-purpose component library.

MellowOrbit42: It looks clean, though I may need something with more interactive patterns.

assistant-ui is worth a close look because it treats agent state and tool calls as core components rather than just wrapping a chat interface. That gives you better primitives for streaming logs and complex agent workflows.

MellowOrbit42: Thatโ€™s really helpfulโ€”thanks!

BoardUI looks like a strong fit. It includes agent-oriented components, animations, and ready-made templates, so you wouldnโ€™t have to assemble every interaction yourself.

MellowOrbit42: This looks like a great matchโ€”thanks for pointing me toward it!
