Hey everyone! I'm in a tough situation and could really use your help. A few weeks ago, my dad's Instagram account was hacked, and now the hacker is posting fake AI-generated photos of him, making it look like he's looking for men. This has caused a lot of stress for my parents, especially my mom, and it's humiliating for our family. We've tried every official recovery option that Instagram offers, but it's just been a nightmare. Everything is automated; there's no way to contact a real person, and it feels like Meta doesn't care about this kind of impersonation. I'm desperate to find a way to actually get someone at Instagram to respond and help us get my dad's account back. If anyone has been through something similar or knows how to escalate this issue, I'd appreciate any practical advice. Thanks!

I totally understand your frustrations. You might want to try reaching out through their official social media channels. Sometimes a public mention on Twitter can get their attention faster than traditional support routes.
Unfortunately, dealing with support can be a waiting game. They might need to conduct their own investigation after you report it. Keep in mind, a lot of these initial responses may be handled by AI.
That’s completely true! We’ve gone through this same situation and I can confirm that the process feels very automated. We submitted our documents and faced a lot of generic rejections too. It can be disheartening, but keep trying to follow up.

That’s a good suggestion! I’ve heard of other people having some success by doing that. I’ll definitely try mentioning it on Twitter.
