What to Expect for CPU Upgrades with AM5 Motherboards?

I'm considering getting a B580 motherboard along with a Ryzen 5 9600X and pairing it with an RX 9060 XT graphics card. I'm curious about how long I can expect to keep using that setup before needing to buy a new CPU. Are we talking about 4 to 5 years? Also, I'm concerned about the longevity of the motherboard itself. Will I likely have to replace my whole system in the future, especially since I doubt the AM5 chipset will support future Zen 7 processors?

AMD plans to keep releasing new CPUs for the AM5 socket until at least 2027, so you should be safe for a good while. If you're looking at an upgrade in the 2029-2030 range, then a new socket might be required.

Didn’t they keep launching new CPUs for AM4 even after AM5 came out?
