What’s a Simple Program to Verify My Drive Clone?

I recently upgraded to a bigger drive and used Macrium Reflect to clone my old one. Now I'm looking for an easy-to-use, free program to verify that everything was copied correctly. I'm concerned because all my creative work is stored on this drive, and I want to make sure I can safely erase the old one afterwards. Backblaze is my backup solution, but I'd love to hear suggestions for straightforward software that can confirm the clone was perfect without diving into complicated tools.

You definitely want to be careful with your valuable data! Instead of just assuming the clone went smoothly, I recommend checking out some reliable file comparison software. Consider using directories comparison tools like WinMerge—it's user-friendly. It compares two files or drives and highlights any differences, which can give you peace of mind before you wipe the old drive. Plus, remember, maybe consider having more than one backup, just for your creative work's safety!

A good way to test your clone is to disconnect the old drive and try booting from the new one if it’s a boot drive. Since you mentioned it's a storage drive, though, you should still take a look at software like Clonezilla or Samsung Magician if you have a Samsung drive. They offer good features, but be sure to have another backup just in case. Just keep in mind that it’s smart to have your critical stuff in multiple places!

If you’re looking for something super simple, that’s understandable! While verifying the clone using a complex tool might seem daunting, you might also want to consider basic drag-and-drop checks or listing files manually to ensure consistency. But for software, try one of the easier GUIs available. I know Backblaze is great for cloud backups, but having another copy on an external drive wouldn’t hurt either!
