What’s the Best Linux Distro for an Old Microsoft Surface?

I'm considering using an old Microsoft Surface that's currently running Windows 10. I want to know if there's a good Linux distro that would work well on it, especially regarding touch screen functionality and compatibility with the snap-on keyboard. I'm looking to breathe some new life into it for temporary use while traveling in a couple of months, as space will be limited. Also, I'd like to hear opinions on whether KDE or GNOME is better for touch screens.

I used to run Android x86 on a Surface Pro 2, and it worked surprisingly well! So, if you’re open to that, it might be a good option, but Linux is definitely a great choice too.

Hmmm, I'll keep this in mind, but I really would prefer a Linux distro if possible. Thanks!
