What’s the Best Quiet Cooler for a 9900X3D?

I recently built a PC with a 9900X3D processor and decided to go with the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 cooler. However, I'm finding it to be louder than I anticipated, especially when under load, where it hits around 80 degrees Celsius. I'm considering getting a quieter cooler but there are so many choices out there. Would it be better to stick with the current setup and maybe just swap the fans for some quieter Noctua G2s? I'm after the best performance combined with low noise and I'm not worried about the cost.

Make sure the cooler has proper contact with the CPU and check your fan curves in BIOS. I've heard that the Peerless Assassin 120 performs well with the 9900X3D; my buddy has a similar setup with a 9950X and it doesn't go beyond 80 degrees under full load. Just might need some tweaking.

That Peerless Assassin cooler is usually pretty good and shouldn't be that noisy. First, I'd double-check to make sure it's mounted properly. A bad mount can lead to issues with cooling and noise. That’s the first thing I’d look into.
