I'm in a bit of a tricky situation at work where I need to clean up a bunch of disabled user accounts. Since we have a hybrid setup with on-prem AD and O365, deleting these accounts means losing all the associated mailboxes and data. I already have a decent method for backing up OneDrive data, but the mailbox backups are giving me a headache. I used to create searches in the Purview portal to export mailboxes as PST files, but recent changes have made this process slow and confusing. I'm looking for a quicker and more intuitive way to handle mailbox backups so I can safely delete these accounts. How do you guys manage this?

I recommend checking out Synology Active Backup for 365 or Veeam Backup for O365. Both have solid features for mailbox backups.
There are so many commercial tools out there that can help. With the range of options, you should be able to find something that fits your budget and needs.
These tools can export to PST files, right? That'd be super helpful for legal searches if needed. Any recommendations?

I can vouch for Synology—it's worked really well for us!
