What’s the best way to remove the PCIe cover from my computer case?

I'm trying to install my GPU but I'm stuck on removing the PCIe cover from my MSI MAG FORGE 120A Airflow case. There's a screw that seems stuck and doesn't move at all. Do I just push the cover off or is there a specific method to do this? I'd appreciate any tips or instructions!

To get that PCI slot cover off, first try to remove the screw, and then gently slide the plate up. It should allow you to access the covers. Make sure you're not forcing anything too much if it's stuck, though!

But what if the screw really won’t budge? Like, is there another method to avoid breaking anything?

That type of PCIe cover usually snaps off, and it's not meant to be reused. You might need to bend it back and forth a bit to break the metal tabs holding it in place. I know it sounds a bit rough, but that’s common on some budget cases.

Wow, I didn't realize that. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll be careful with it.

Wait, are you sure there's a screw? Some cases come with punch-out covers instead—like perforated metal. If you don't see any screws, just push where the cover is supposed to break until it pops out.
