I have a Z890 Eagle WiFi 7 motherboard, but the fourth DIMM slot appears to be broken. If I'm installing two RAM sticks, should I use the first and second slots, or the second and third slots? I want to make sure the memory runs in dual-channel mode.

Use the first and third slots when counting from the CPU outward. These should correspond to A1 and B1, putting the sticks on separate memory channels for dual-channel operation. Check the labels printed on the motherboard or the manual, since the recommended slots are identified by their channel names rather than just their physical position.
First and third is the right choice, assuming you’re counting the slots in physical order. The motherboard manual should also show the exact slot labels, so double-check that before installing them.

Thanks, I checked the manual but found it a little confusing. I’ll try the first and third slots and verify the labels on the board.
