Why am I being charged for Bedrock models despite having AWS credits?

I received three AWS credit grants, and each lists Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon Bedrock Service, Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base, and AmazonBedrockFoundationModels as applicable products. I used Bedrock with Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Haiku 4.5, but those requests still generated charges. Are third-party models such as Claude excluded while AWS-owned models like Nova are covered? How can I verify exactly which models and usage types my credits apply to?
Answers
Claude models are provided by a third party, so theyโre often excluded from general Bedrock credits. AWS-owned models such as Amazon Nova are more likely to qualify, but the exact coverage depends on the credit grantโs terms.

For a definitive answer, have AWS billing support review the specific credit grants and the charged usage line items. They can confirm whether Claude usage is excluded or whether the credits were applied incorrectly.

The product names on the credit donโt necessarily mean every model available through that product is covered. Different grants can have different restrictions, including exclusions for third-party foundation models. Check the original grant documentation for the eligible usage details.
