Why Am I Still Seeing Ads After Using an Ad Blocker?

I recently installed Adw Cleaner based on some recommendations I saw on Discord, but I'm still bombarded with ads, especially an annoying McAfee ad that I can't close without jumping through hoops. I've checked my app settings and noticed the Adw app isn't showing up, which makes me wonder if that's part of the problem. I've been scanning my system, quarantining threats, and restarting, but nothing seems to work. I'm using Windows 10 and just want to enjoy my games without these distracting ads. Can anyone help?

Adw Cleaner was actually acquired by Malwarebytes. You should try booting your computer into safe mode with networking, install the Malwarebytes version, and run a full scan. This method often helps catch stubborn adware that's hiding during a normal boot.
