Why can't I install Find My iPhone on my iPhone 14?

Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with installing the Find My iPhone app on my device. I have plenty of storage available, but every time I try to download it, it buffers briefly and then nothing happens. This has been going on for almost a week, which is particularly annoying because I need the app to locate my AirPods! I've tried all the usual fixes like logging out of iCloud, restarting my phone, and even letting it die. My iPhone is a 14 running iOS 16.6, and I've never faced any installation issues with this app in the past. I can provide a video if that helps. Any ideas?

You might want to try deleting the app if it’s somehow showing up incorrectly and then redownloading it from the App Store. Sometimes that helps with installation issues!

It’s possible that your iOS version, 16.6, is outdated. Maybe check if the latest updates can be installed? Sometimes, older versions can cause trouble with newer app requirements.
AnnoyedUser13: I get that, but it’s strange since my sister uses an older iOS without issues. Plus, I hear that iOS 18 looks pretty complicated!
