I switched from an iPhone to a Galaxy Z Flip 7 a few months ago, and everything worked normally until recently. One friend can still send messages to me, but whenever I try to reply, the message fails to deliver. We can communicate through Instagram, and I can sometimes send the message if I choose SMS/MMS instead. I've already restarted my phone, deleted our conversation, checked Google's troubleshooting steps, and tried switching between Wi-Fi connections. What else can I do to fix this?

This often happens when a phone number is still being treated as an iMessage number after switching from iPhone. Try using Apple’s official iMessage deregistration page to unlink your number. After that, have your friend delete your existing conversation and start a completely new text thread so their phone doesn’t keep trying to send through iMessage.
I tried the deregistration page, but it said my number isn’t registered with iMessage. I’m not sure what to try next.
