I recently tried to create a trial account for Azure and Fabric, but it seems Microsoft is blocking me from using my Revolut virtual card. I'm curious about how Microsoft was able to determine that I'm using a virtual card. Is it even legal for a company to gather and use that information about credit cards?

It seems like the issue might be more with Revolut itself. Some companies, including Microsoft, choose not to accept certain payment providers like Revolut or Wise because virtual cards can create complications, especially when it comes to invoicing. When you enter your card details, companies can see basic info like the bank and card type which might lead them to flag your card.

Yeah, that makes sense! Microsoft is pretty strict with the types of cards they accept, especially for trials. I had a similar issue when I used a bank that issued disposable cards.
