Why doesn’t PagerDuty’s web interface have a dark mode?

The PagerDuty mobile app supports dark mode, but the web interface still uses a bright white theme. Why hasn't a web dark mode been added yet? Staring at that screen during a 3 a.m. incident is unnecessarily harsh, and it seems like the interface could at least follow the browser or operating system's preferred color scheme.

Until native support arrives, the Dark Reader browser extension is a solid workaround. It works in both Firefox and Chromium-based browsers and can also handle other bright web apps.

That helps in the short term, but the interface really should offer its own theme options. A built-in dark mode would be more reliable and could avoid odd colors or contrast issues caused by forcing a theme externally.

Exactly. I’ll use the extension for now, but I still think dark mode belongs in the product itself.

They may be concerned about breaking older incident pages or embedded third-party components. Even so, supporting the browser or operating system’s prefers-color-scheme setting on the main interface would be a reasonable first step.
