Why is RemotePC Deleting Itself Daily on One PC?

I've been using RemotePC without any issues for years on multiple computers. Recently, though, one of my PCs has started deleting RemotePC every day when it's idle. The desktop shortcut disappears, and I have to reinstall it each time. I even tried uninstalling it completely, downloading a new copy, and reinstalling, but the problem persists. I'm stumped on why this is happening and would appreciate any help or advice.

It sounds like your antivirus might be flagging RemotePC as a virus, especially since it's a remote access program. Many antivirus tools, like Windows Defender, can be pretty aggressive with software that looks suspicious. You might want to try disabling your antivirus temporarily to see if that stops the uninstallation.

Good point! I haven't tried that yet, but I agree that it would be odd if that's the case without any notifications. I usually only connect to my own PCs, so it's really strange that suddenly this started happening.

Self-uninstalling software is super rare. If you don't use it for file sharing, maybe try disabling that feature just in case? You mentioned it's never been an issue before, so this is definitely unusual. Installing an older version could help too—some updates might introduce bugs that weren't there before.

It’s possible your software is being flagged as malware. Remote access apps frequently get caught in those filters. Try turning off your security software temporarily and see if that resolves it. Funny how just one of your 20 PCs is acting up, right?
