I frequently use the Snipping Tool to capture screenshots, but it's been acting up lately. I can open the app and use the Windows shortcut without any issues, but once I highlight the area I want to capture and take the image, nothing happens. I've searched online for solutions related to the tool not opening or showing the editor, but those don't apply because my computer doesn't show an editor or save any images. I've tried repairing it through the settings and even uninstalled and reinstalled the tool completely, but I still have the same problem: no editor, no images, and my screenshot folder remains empty. Interestingly, the video feature of the Snipping Tool and the Windows + S shortcut works perfectly fine and opens the editing tool. It's really just the screenshot feature that's malfunctioning.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I’ve already mentioned that I’ve repaired and reinstalled it without any change. Unfortunately, I've exhausted most of the typical fixing steps.
It sounds like your screenshots might only be going to the clipboard, or the preview feature could be glitching. You can try opening Microsoft Paint and pressing CTRL+V to see if it pastes what you captured. If that doesn't work, it seems like the Snipping Tool service might be broken. You might want to attempt resetting the tool; it usually helps resolve these types of issues.
