Why was I billed for Bedrock even though I had AWS credits?

I received three AWS credit grants, and each one listed these applicable products: Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon Bedrock Service, Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base, and AmazonBedrockFoundationModels. I used Bedrock with Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Claude Haiku 4.5, but the usage still appeared on my bill. I'm wondering whether these credits only apply to Amazon's own models, such as Nova, and exclude third-party models from providers like Anthropic. What's the best way to verify exactly which Bedrock models and charges my specific credits cover?

The likely issue is that Claude models are third-party models. AWS credits often cover Amazon-owned foundation models, such as Nova, but don’t automatically cover models from providers like Anthropic. The product name on the credit grant alone may not tell you which individual models are eligible.

Claude Sonnet and Haiku are probably what caused the charge. Unless the grant explicitly includes Anthropic or third-party foundation models, assume those requests aren’t covered. AWS Support or the organization that issued the credits should be able to confirm the model-level coverage.
