The ₹15,000 UPI mandate usually represents the maximum amount authorized for automatic payments; it isn’t necessarily an immediate charge. AWS bills for actual usage, generally through the normal billing cycle or according to the payment arrangement on your account. Review the mandate details in your UPI app and the payment settings in AWS to confirm exactly what was authorized.
Be careful with resources that can generate charges even when you’re experimenting, such as storage, public IPv4 addresses, data transfer, snapshots, load balancers, and gateways. A small project can involve several billable services, so don’t assume that an account described as “free” guarantees a zero bill. If you need account-specific confirmation about the mandate or a charge, AWS Support can check it.
AWS doesn’t have one single “free plan.” The Free Tier applies to specific services and usage limits.
