My printer stopped working correctly on two different Windows 11 laptops. It worked normally a few months ago, but now the printer no longer offers the option to print on both sides of the paper, and print jobs come out in reverse page order. I suspect a Windows update may have replaced or conflicted with the printer driver. What is the best way to fix this? Should I reinstall the driver, and should I download it directly from HP?

Windows Update sometimes replaces a manufacturer’s working printer driver with a generic or incompatible version. Try downloading the full driver and software package for your exact printer model directly from HP’s official support site, using the Windows 11 version if available. Before reinstalling, remove the existing printer from Windows and uninstall its old software if HP provides an uninstall tool. Then restart the laptop and install the downloaded package again. This should restore options such as duplex printing, assuming the printer supports automatic two-sided printing.

Thanks! I wasn’t sure whether to get the driver from HP or let Windows find one, so I’ll try the exact model’s package from HP first.
