Why isn’t my new SSD detected in BIOS?

I just bought a Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD, but it's not showing up in the BIOS. I've checked the cables, and my old drive works fine, so that shouldn't be an issue. I've also tried all the different SATA ports on my motherboard, and they work with my older drive, but the new SSD still isn't being recognized. Any suggestions on what I can do?

What motherboard do you have? If you have other drives, especially M.2 drives, they might disable certain SATA ports based on the configuration. Also, double-check that the SATA power cable is securely connected to the SSD.

Have you checked if the SSD shows up in Disk Manager? Sometimes, it might not appear in BIOS but could still be visible there.
