Hey everyone! I have a 750 GB external HDD that isn't appearing in File Explorer when I connect it to my laptop. However, it shows up in Disk Management, but as unallocated space. I tried using third-party data recovery software, but it gets stuck between 2-5% and I can't recover my files. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my data back?

Data recovery can be tricky! If you don't feel comfortable trying to recover files yourself, it's often best to create a disk image before attempting recovery. That way, you can prevent further data loss. If the files are really important, consider taking it to a data recovery professional instead of trying to fix it on your own.
Have you tried using paid data recovery software? It might be worth it if your files are valuable. If all else fails, visiting a local data recovery shop could really help. They usually have better tools to deal with issues like this.
If your data's crucial, I recommend not messing around with it too much on your own. The risk of losing everything increases if you keep trying to recover it. But I get that you might not want to hand it over to someone, especially if it’s sensitive info.
