I'm currently in the process of assembling my first PC build and I've got everything picked out except for the monitor. My setup includes a 7800x3d CPU and a 7800xt GPU. I plan to play a lot of FPS games like Valorant, along with some AAA titles like Nightreign and Black Myth: Wukong. I'm aiming for a 1440p monitor with a refresh rate between 180-240Hz, but I'm trying to keep the costs reasonable. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

There's definitely a wide range of options out there! Just keep in mind that your GPU might limit you in terms of hitting that 240FPS mark in certain games. Do you really need that high of a refresh rate? I have a 1080p gaming laptop that can reach 300Hz, and honestly, I can't tell much of a difference compared to my desktop monitors running at 165Hz. The leap from 60Hz to 144Hz is huge, but after that, the improvements are pretty minimal and hard to notice.
It's wild to say that with the tech we have now! In 2025, 240Hz is definitely achievable at 1440p for various games, especially with a competitive settings tweak.
