Is My Laptop Really Slow After Upgrading RAM?

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my laptop's RAM from 8GB to 16GB, and at first, I was worried it was running really slowly. After letting it charge for a bit and playing a game, I noticed a big improvement, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should keep in mind about the upgrade. My laptop is a Lenovo AMD IdeaPad 3, and I used two 8GB Crucial RAM sticks that run at 4800MHz DDR5. Any insights from the more experienced folks here? Was my initial worry just a glitch due to it being dead for a while?

Just check if your laptop is actually running at 4800MHz. You can use a program like CPU-Z to verify your RAM speed. Sometimes the system doesn’t automatically run at the RAM's max speed due to compatibility issues. But if the original RAM was also 4800MHz, you should be good!

Yep, CPU-Z will give you a clear look at what's going on with the RAM speeds.

It's common for laptops that were dead to have a slower first boot after a hardware change. They usually have a lot of updates to install when powered back on, especially after being off for a while. Just give it a little time and see how it performs once it's fully charged!

Exactly! I had a similar experience when I upgraded my RAM, and after a few updates, it ran much smoother. Patience is key!
