I recently bought an ADATA M.2 Gen 4 SSD for my PS5, which has 99% health, for a steal at around 93 CAD (68 USD). While it works fine, I'm noticing that the speeds are only about 25% of what's advertised. I checked the health with CrystalDiskInfo and HD Tune, and they show no errors. My motherboard is an Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming, and based on the specs from the website, it seems like I'm using a second M.2 slot that supports PCIe 2.0. I'm guessing that might be the reason for the slow speeds, but I couldn't find clear info about the M2B socket and what gen it actually is. Any insights?

Exactly! Your SSD is running in a PCIe 2.0 slot, so it's getting only a fraction of its potential. If you move it to a PCIe 3.0 slot, it’ll definitely be faster, but it won't hit the max Gen 4 speeds, which is unfortunate. It's all about that bandwidth!
I had the same issue! Switched my SSD to a Gen 3 slot and it was much better, though still not full speed. Just a heads up, it's worth trying for sure!
