Hey everyone! I'm stuck trying to decide between Windows and Linux for my operating system. I've been using Linux for a few months now. While I initially found it pretty challenging, I'm getting the hang of it. I appreciate the open-source community, love the way things are done, but there's a downside—I'm really missing out on playing my favorite games. I can only play CS2, which is getting a bit boring. I've tried a bunch of different distros and currently, I'm on CachyOS, which I like, but it can be quite tedious to use at times since I have to remember a lot of commands.
On the flip side, I absolutely dislike Windows. It's frustrating, but I do have to admit that it lets me play the games I enjoy, and I feel more confident when using it without the fear of breaking something due to an update. Plus, there's a lot of customization available on Windows too.
I was thinking of either sticking with Linux and trying to set up a Hyprland layout from scratch or reinstalling Windows 11 and customizing it to look like Hyprland. Dual booting doesn't seem like a viable option for me due to stability concerns, and virtual machines take up too much space. So what do you all think? After switching between both for a few months, I'm really unsure of which way to go!

Honestly, it all depends on what you really want from your OS. If gaming is your priority, Windows is likely the safer bet since it has much better support for games. But if you enjoy Linux for its community and customization, maybe you can find ways to play older games that are compatible with Linux through tools like Proton or Wine—there’s quite a list on ProtonDB.
