What are the Best IT Asset Management Software Options for a Mid-Sized Company?

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for effective IT asset management software that suits a mid-sized organization with around 1000 assets (think laptops, printers, etc.). We've been managing everything through spreadsheets across three sites since day one, and frankly, we're behind the curve on automating our asset tracking. Although it's been manageable so far, there are moments where we miss tracking some equipment or forget about hardware that's left floating around for weeks.

I'm looking for software that can sync with Intune or pull data directly from our MDM. It needs to have a user-friendly interface for non-tech users, require minimal manual input, and have straightforward solutions for fixing issues that may arise. The main goal is to ensure rigid asset tracking that can scale as we grow. Also, while cost is somewhat flexible, I won't tolerate vital features being hidden behind pricey tiers.

I've only explored Bluetally up to this point, but I'm eager to hear your experiences and recommendations. What should I prioritize when choosing this software, and what pitfalls should I be aware of? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and suggestions!

I’ve used a mix of NinjaRMM and Lansweeper, and they both do the job well. But I'd also suggest checking out AssetSonar; it pulls data from Intune smoothly and is quick to set up.

We’ve found Snipe-IT to be a reliable choice for managing assets. It's user-friendly and gets the job done well for our needs.

Snipe-IT has been a solid option for my team. It's easy to customize, which is great for branding, and even though it has its quirks, I believe it's worth trying out.

I personally love GLPI. We've been using it for years, and it works great for our asset tracking.

We initially tried using Excel and transitioned through various solutions. Once we hit over 600 assets, tracking became a headache, so we opted for Bluetally, which synced with our MDM and reduced the maintenance effort. Setup was a breeze too; definitely a game changer for us!
