First Time PC Build – My CPU Isn’t Posting, Could RAM Be the Issue?

I'm working on my first PC build, and I'm facing some issues. I've got Teamgroup Tforce Delta RGB 32GB DDR5 RAM (product code: FF3D532G6000HC30DC01) and a Gigabyte B650m Aorus Elite AX Rev 1.3 motherboard. According to PCPartPicker, they should be compatible, so I didn't worry about it too much at first. However, I noticed that while Teamgroup's site claims the RAM works with the motherboard and AMD 9000 series CPUs, Gigabyte's site doesn't list my specific RAM module in their supported list.

I've reached out to Gigabyte to clarify, but I'm trying to rule out RAM incompatibility as a cause for my system not posting. I want to check if everything works before putting it in the case. Right now, I have the following connected:
1) AMD 9800X3D CPU
2) Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240mm AIO (connected to CPU_FAN)
3) The Tforce Delta RAM in dual-channel mode
4) A 5070FE GPU

Currently, I've connected the 24-pin ATX, CPU, and GPU to my Corsair RM750x PSU. When I power it on, I get a purple light that quickly goes out, and pressing the onboard reset button doesn't do anything; none of the RGB lights on the cooler turn on either. Any help would be appreciated!

Incompatible RAM is pretty unlikely here. Have you checked if your BIOS is updated? That could definitely help, especially since your motherboard might not initially support all the RAM speeds out of the box. Better to ensure you have the latest BIOS version.

I haven’t flashed the BIOS yet, but I planned to do that next. I came across posts where others were able to use the Rev 1.3 with the 9800X3D right away, so I thought I’d try without updating first.

From what you've described, all DDR5 RAM should work with your motherboard, though some may not achieve their advertised speeds without a proper BIOS setting. It sounds more like a possible short circuit or an issue with your PSU or motherboard. Check for any loose connections; that could lead to a short.

Thanks for your response! How can I confirm if it’s a board issue? And yeah, I double-checked all the cable connections to make sure they were secure.
