I'm trying to completely remove the password requirement for my PC running Windows 11 Pro, but I'm having trouble. I've seen guides that suggest using netplwiz to uncheck a box, but that option doesn't appear for me. Windows Hello isn't allowing me to remove the password either. Just so you know, I realize the risks involved with having no password. This PC is a NAS for storing movies, music, and family photos—it doesn't handle any sensitive information, and it's set up under a generic name like 'NAS PC'. My goal is to make it easier for my family to access it when they want to transfer photos, so any advice would be hugely appreciated!

It seems like there might be some confusion. Are you trying to remove the password while logged into the PC? Usually, you do that from a pre-environment setup. An alternative is to use a DVD with password removal tools—Hirens used to be a popular choice, and I'm sure there are others compatible with Windows 11 now.
The method mentioned should help, but if you're looking for a bit of security, consider saving the password on the devices that access the NAS. Windows, Linux, and potentially macOS can handle saving it so it won’t ask for it again, making accessing it easier for everyone.
You can try typing 'lusrmgr.msc' in the search bar. Once there, navigate to 'Users', find your local account, right-click it, and select 'Set Password'. Just leave both fields blank and hit 'OK'. That should help you get rid of the password requirement!
Yeah, I'm trying to remove it from within the OS. I thought that was the right place! Thanks for the suggestion, though!
