Is it possible for someone with no tech skills to build a PC?

I've been using an old Alienware Aurora R5 with a 1060 GPU and 16GB of RAM, but it's starting to feel really sluggish. I've got Windows 10 and about 225GB of storage on my C: drive.

I'm thinking about getting a new PC, but I'm not very tech-savvy at all, and I have no idea where to start when it comes to building one. Can someone help me figure this out?

When I was in your shoes during the pandemic, I knew nothing about building PCs. I started watching channels like JayzTwoCents and Gamers Nexus, which helped me understand the basics. After watching a bunch of videos, I jumped into it, ordered my parts, and managed to build my first PC! It’s a cool experience, and if you run into any issues, don't hesitate to ask around or look up your problem online. Good luck, you'll be fine!

Absolutely, you can build a PC even if you're not very tech-savvy! Just head to YouTube; there are tons of tutorials out there. A good one to check out is LTT’s "How to build a PC, the last guide you'll ever need (2024 update)." For parts, you'll need a case, motherboard, RAM, CPU, CPU cooler, storage, power supply, and possibly a GPU depending on your budget. Make sure to check compatibility between your motherboard and case. Sites like eBay can have great deals, but always ensure the parts work before buying. You got this!

Building a PC can be a bit much if you're not familiar with technology, but it can also be super rewarding! If your current setup can still handle what you want to do, you might not need to rush into a build. It could also help to clean up your current system or check if a simple upgrade can do the trick instead. But if you're committed to building, there's a lot of support here!
