I built my PC a few months back, and it takes up so much desk space that my monitor and keyboard barely fit anymore. I have a small cubby where I could place it, but I'm worried about the heat in a closed space. Ideally, I'd love to put it on the floor, but I have carpet, and my two cats shed a lot. Will putting it on the floor mess it up?

I had mine on the floor with carpet for years and had no serious issues. Just make sure to clean it regularly! Consider getting some magnetic filters for the fans to catch pet hair and dust.
I did the same, and my PC did fine. I blew it out monthly, and it stayed relatively clean!
The floor is doable but keep in mind it collects more dust than a desk. If you do end up on the floor, just commit to cleaning it more often. Maybe once a month or even bi-weekly.
I’ve had mine on the floor for 8 months and do a good clean every month, no big deal!
Make sure to have some solid ventilation around it, too, and you should be fine!
Not recommended to put it directly on carpet! If you have the option, elevate it on a small platform or even a few bricks. This will help with airflow and keep it cleaner. Don’t forget to clean the dust filters regularly to keep it running efficiently!
Absolutely, a couple of inches off the floor goes a long way!
I found some cheap intake screens that help catch all the fur. Very useful!
Putting your PC on the floor is possible, but it's not the best idea given the carpet situation. Dust and pet hair can accumulate quickly, so you might want to elevate it. A cheap rolling stand can really help with this, keeping it off the ground and making cleaning easier too.
I have a rolling stand under my desk and it really minimizes dust. Just roll it out for cleaning and you’re good to go!
I tried a rolling cart too but still ended up getting a bigger desk! Less hassle in the long run.
Yes, you can place it on the carpet, but be cautious. If your PSU has its intake on the bottom, that’s a problem since it can get blocked. Try putting something solid under your PC to raise it up a couple of inches for better airflow. This helps keep the dust at bay too!
You could also look for floor tiles or something flat to put underneath for stability and elevation.
I used a thick piece of wood under mine, and it helped a ton with dust and airflow.
Filters are a game changer! Easy to pop off and clean.
