Lost AirPods Charging Case – Need Help Finding a Replacement

I recently purchased some AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancelling on Amazon Renewed, and they worked perfectly when I first set them up. Unfortunately, while out on a walk with my dogs, the charging case fell out of my shallow pockets, and I didn't realize it until it was too late. When I tried to use the Find My feature, it didn't work because the case hadn't been completely erased from the previous owner's Apple ID. Now I'm in a bind. Has anyone experienced something similar? I'm looking for recommendations on finding a replacement charging case that includes the Find My feature and accurate locating capabilities. Also, since these are still under Apple's limited warranty until November and have a 90-day Amazon guarantee, is there a way to get a replacement without having to buy a new case? Thanks for any advice!

You can definitely get a replacement charging case directly from Apple. Just be ready to pay for it, as they usually charge around $80 for a new one. It’s painful, especially since you just bought the AirPods, but that’s your best bet if you want a genuine replacement.

Yeah, I feel you. Paying that much is tough, especially when you just got them! I'm hoping there's another workaround, but it seems like Apple's policy can be pretty strict on this.

Just a heads up, Amazon’s 90-day guarantee and Apple’s warranty only cover hardware defects, not lost items. So unfortunately, you likely won’t be able to claim for your case being lost, even if it had software issues from the previous account.

That's a bummer! I thought maybe there'd be a loophole since the software wasn’t cleared properly. Guess I'm stuck looking for a replacement.
