Hey everyone, I recently built a gaming desktop for a friend and it was running perfectly until I added some new components. Here's the setup I started with: Asus tuf gaming a620m-plus, Ryzen 5 8500g, 2x8GB DDR5 (5200MHz), RX 7600 8GB, Silicon Power M.2 NVMe 512GB, MSI MAG A650BN, and Windows 10 Pro.
A couple of days ago, I went to install a new NVMe SSD (WD Black 1TB) and added two more sticks of RAM to bump it up to 32GB total. The NVMe installation was a bit tricky due to a BIOS setting, but I got that sorted out. However, when I added the RAM, the PC wouldn't post at first, so I did a CMOS reset. After that, I could get to the desktop, but it started freezing randomly and then restarting on its own.
I ran a memtest64 and it flagged a ton of errors. I later found that two of the RAM slots were loose, so I reseated the RAM, and then the memtest showed no problems. Nevertheless, Windows keeps freezing and then restarting on its own. Just to clarify, I didn't replace the original RAM; I just added two identical sticks, so all four slots are filled with the same brand and speed. I also tried running a system file check (SFC /scannow) but that didn't help, and the RAM speed settings in BIOS are locked at 3600MHz.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to provide as much detail as I could. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the new RAM sticks might be faulty. I’d recommend testing the system with just the original sticks to see if the problem persists.
I’m going to give that a shot. Do you think it could also be related to some BIOS settings?
