After Windows 11 Update, Can’t Connect to Ethernet or Access USB Drive

I've been having a really tough time with my PC since a recent update to Windows 11. My setup includes an AMD 7 9800x3D, and I was using a wired Ethernet connection without issues until a few days ago. Now, when I log in, I find that there's no internet connection available, and I can't even connect via WiFi. In Device Manager, my Network Controller and an Unknown Device are showing up under 'Other Devices' with a yellow error sign. It turns out these are related to my Ethernet/WiFi hardware and the AMD chipset. I tried downloading the updated drivers on my laptop to transfer via USB, but as soon as I plug in the USB, it also appears as an 'Unknown Device.' So, I'm totally locked out - no internet, no USB access, and I can't update any drivers. I attempted using Windows Recovery, but there were no restore points, and resetting Windows 11 while keeping my files didn't work either. I've even tried resetting the BIOS to default, but to no avail. I'm looking for any helpful tips on how to fix this mess—I thought it'd be a simple driver update, but now I'm just stuck.

That sounds super frustrating! Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the network adapter drivers? Sometimes that can help after an update. You could also check if there’s a new update available for your drivers, or maybe roll back to an earlier version if it was working fine before. Good luck!

Can I uninstall/reinstall without internet or USB? I'm not sure where to find the old drivers on my hard drive. Since I can’t access the internet, I can't check for new updates, and Windows isn't letting me roll back to a previous version. Appreciate the kind words!
