I recently downloaded Daemon Tools Lite and during the installation, Windows Defender flagged three severe Trojans (Trojan:Script:/Wacatac.B!ml). I quarantined those files, ran a full scan, and found a potentially unwanted application (PUA:Win32/Puwaders.C!ml), which I also removed. Afterwards, I used Malwarebytes and an offline scan that found nothing. I decided to do a factory reset and will reinstall Windows. I've also changed my passwords and set up 2FA with Google Authenticator for my important accounts. Now, I'm worried whether this was just a false alarm or if I really did have a Trojan. Are my accounts safe?

It's possible that it was a false positive. Windows Defender can sometimes mistake safe files for malicious ones, especially with installation files for common apps. It's good that you took precautions by scanning with other tools and running a full reset. Just make sure to keep your software up to date and regularly scan your PC, and you should be fine!
Many users have reported similar experiences with Daemon Tools and other installers. It's a good practice to always cross-check with services like VirusTotal before deleting files. Since you've factory reset your PC and re-secured your accounts, your risk is minimized. Just stay vigilant for any unusual account activity!
Thanks for the reassurance! I guess I just have to be more cautious in the future.
I agree, it often happens with legit programs. Just keep an eye on your accounts and consider using a second opinion tool like Malwarebytes regularly.
