Hey everyone! I'm currently trying to free up some space on my Linux Ubuntu 25.05 system, but the catch is that I'm in recovery mode. I have root access, so I can use command-line tools, but I can't access the graphical interface. Any tips on how I can efficiently clean up some space? Thanks a bunch!

Glad to hear that you managed to delete some files and reboot your system! It's amazing what a little clean-up can do. Have a nice day!

If you’ve got media files like videos or photos taking up space, consider moving those to a thumb drive. Depending on the files, that could free up a significant amount of space!

You mentioned you're looking for command-line methods to free up space. One option is the command # rm -rf /usr/share/doc to remove documentation files that aren't necessarily needed.

Great to hear you're making progress! If you need more guidance, don’t hesitate to ask. Sometimes sharing a bit more info about what’s taking up space can help get you better advice.

You could start by checking if your log files in /var/log have ballooned in size. Sometimes those can take up a lot of space, and cleaning them out might help a lot! Just be cautious with what you delete.
