Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC setup to achieve better performance for my 1440p 144Hz monitor. Here's my current build:
- **CPU**: Intel Core i5-12400F
- **CPU Cooler**: Antec A30 Neo ARGB
- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte Z690M DS3H DDR4
- **Memory**: 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200
- **Storage**: 1TB Kingston NV2 M.2 NVMe SSD
- **Video Card**: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB
- **Case**: CoolerMaster MasterBox 600
- **Power Supply**: Corsair CX650 650W 80+ Bronze
I'm aiming to stay under $1000 for the upgrade, ideally around $500. What do you think is the most sensible way to improve my setup? I'd really appreciate any and all suggestions!

Honestly, I’d just upgrade the CPU. I recommend the i7-14700K. It’s around $275 on Amazon. Your motherboard supports it, but make sure to update the BIOS first if needed. Your current setup is solid, and this change should give you the performance boost you’re looking for without breaking the bank!
Check out this setup I found: you could upgrade to an Intel Core i5-13600KF and a Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 9070 XT. It comes to about $1000, but it’s a solid upgrade that would really boost performance. Just make sure to check the prices at different retailers to get the best deal! How big of an upgrade is that CPU over the 12400F? Any suggestions for something effective that costs less than $1000?
Is the upgrade from the 12400F alone effective enough to see a real difference? Is my cooling good enough to support the 14700K?
