I'm considering the AMD 6600 for gaming and want to know if it can handle 1080p at 60 FPS for both older and newer titles. Is this GPU a good fit for my needs?

If you can snag one for about $150, it should be good for many games running at 1080p 60 FPS. Some newer titles will need settings adjustments, but it’s still viable. However, I'd recommend considering an RX 7600 for better longevity at around $200, or a 6700 XT if you can find it for about $250 to ensure handling anything you want at 1080p 60 FPS.
The 6600 can definitely work for older games. I used mine with a B450 motherboard and it ran titles like modded Skyrim and Witcher 3 pretty well at 1080p, hitting around 40-80 FPS based on the game. Just make sure your BIOS settings are optimized and your RAM is installed properly to get the best performance out of it.
Another option worth considering is the Intel B580. It might be a good alternative depending on your budget and performance needs.
If you're in the US, I’d say you could have picked it up for $180, and it would have been a good deal. But for a little extra cash, looking at the RX 7600 or B580 would give you more power for around $50-60 more. Also, checking the used market for something like the 6700 XT could be worthwhile.
