I've got an S24 Ultra that I've been taking great care of, and it was charging fine until a month or so ago. Now I'm facing some weird issues. The phone only charges when the USB-C cable is in one orientation, and it doesn't charge fast anymore. I decided to test connecting it to another phone with the same cable, and it seems like my S24U was actually sending power to the other phone while it was at 15%, even though the other phone had over 50%. When I tried the other way, the other phone was charging my S24U instead.
In an attempt to troubleshoot, I plugged an external hard drive in and accessed the settings for "charge connected devices." I noticed some confusion when I plugged it into the wall; in one orientation, the option to charge connected devices was greyed out, but when I flipped the cable, it kept switching on and off without letting me set it. Also, my cable shows the wattage, and it didn't look right when it wasn't charging. Anyone experienced something like this and managed to solve it?

I had similar issues after updating to One UI 7 from 6.1. I can't say for sure if that's the cause, but it's definitely worth considering. Sometimes updates can mess with settings that affect charging. You might want to check if there are any follow-up updates or patches available too!
Have you checked if the Power Share feature is turned off? Sometimes it can cause problems if it's not set right. You mentioned that the charge connected devices option keeps toggling on and off based on the cable orientation, which sounds frustrating. Make sure that feature is fully disabled, as it might be interfering with the charging process.
Yes, I checked that! The charge connected device option is off, but it keeps turning back on when the cable is in one orientation.
