I have a 2020 MacBook Pro, and I'm looking to upgrade for school. I'm running into issues with After Effects because it can't use the Advanced 3D Renderer due to my integrated GPU. I'm wondering if there are any newer MacBook Pro models out there that come with dedicated GPUs instead of integrated ones.

Good question! So the latest MacBooks are using integrated GPUs in the M-series chips, which means there isn't a traditional separate GPU like in older Intel models. However, if you're looking for better graphics performance for After Effects, go for the MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro or M2 Pro chips. They come with 16-core GPU options that handle advanced rendering much better. I’d suggest the 16" MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and at least 16GB of RAM—32GB is even better if you’re working on heavier projects.

Totally get your concern! I've seen the help documentation suggesting that anything with 16GB of RAM is good enough, but many users recommend 32GB for a smooth experience, especially for complex projects. Just keep in mind, if you’re using integrated graphics, you won’t be able to utilize the Advanced 3D Renderer in After Effects—no matter the RAM.
