Hey everyone! I just finished assembling my first PC, and I'm in a bit of a jam. My motherboard lights up when I turn on the power supply, so I know some things are working, but when I hit the power button, nothing else powers on. I'm really puzzled why only the motherboard is responsive. Could anyone help me figure out what's going wrong or how I might fix it? If you need more details, just let me know. Thanks!

Do any of your fans spin when you try to power on? It sounds like a power issue if nothing is happening at all.
Have you connected the power switch from your case to the right pins on the motherboard? Sometimes that can be the root of the issue. Just to be safe, it might be worth checking again when you take it apart to troubleshoot.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I connected it correctly, but we plan to take it apart soon to double-check everything. I'm hoping it’s not a bigger issue!
First off, can you share your specs? Are all cables connected properly? Also, is the display connected to your GPU or are you using the integrated graphics? Look out for any error codes or lights on the motherboard. Knowing what isn’t working can help narrow it down better!
Sure! I have an AMD Ryzen 7 5000 CPU, MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, 16GB RAM, and a 2TB Barracuda SSD, all on a B450M Steel Legend motherboard. The PSU is a Corsair CX650M. The GPU is on the motherboard but doesn’t connect to the PSU. I'm using a TV for display, which worked with my previous setup. When I power it on, there's no sound, no RGB lights on other components, and no fans spinning either—just the motherboard lights up.
Nope, none of the fans are spinning. I have a liquid cooling system with two fans in the front and one at the back, and they’re all dead.
