Slow Blinking Yellow Light on New MSI Build—What’s Going On?

I just built a new PC with the following specs:

* Ryzen 5 7600x
* MSI RTX 5070 Shadow 2X
* MSI Pro A620M-E motherboard
* Crucial 6000MHz DDR5 RAM
* Corsair RM850e PSU

However, when I try to boot it, there's no display. The red CPU light and yellow DRAM light come on, but the red light turns off after a while while the yellow light starts blinking slowly. I removed the RAM, and the red and yellow lights remain on, which suggests the RAM is being detected, so the CPU should be fine.

I also loosened the cooler and checked for any thermal paste issues, which seemed okay despite a little excess paste. I've reseated the RAM and tested each stick individually, but I get the same results.

I'm wondering if the CPU doesn't support 6000MHz RAM, as I've seen mixed opinions on that. It should theoretically boot to BIOS, but the official specs mention support for 5200MHz DDR5.

What could be going wrong?

Have you let the computer sit for a bit before trying anything? Sometimes new setups, especially with AM5 and DDR5, can take a while to boot into BIOS because of memory training. This process can take up to 15 minutes sometimes, so be patient! Also, try clearing the CMOS and starting over.

I hope that's the case! I got really frustrated when it didn't boot right away. I read online to leave it for 5 minutes, so I did and went for a shower. Came back to it still being unresponsive. Maybe since I have 32GB of RAM, it takes longer? I'm planning to let it run overnight and see what happens. I'd expect some sort of loading screen though! I built my last PC with an FX-6300, so I'm not used to this tech in 2025.

By the way, how do you actually clear the CMOS? I often just flip the switch, wait for 10 seconds, then turn it back on, but I'm not sure that’s the correct way.
