I was playing Valorant on my RTX 3060, which is about two years old, when suddenly the screen lost signal. The PC was still on and I could hear my friends talking, but I noticed the GPU's LED had turned off. I even tried my GPU in a friend's PC, but it wouldn't start there either. Is it common for a GPU to fail this early, or am I just overreacting?

First off, does your GPU refuse to turn on completely now? If that’s the case, it might really have bitten the dust. It's worth considering a trip to a repair shop with good reviews. They can check if it's truly an issue with the GPU or if something else is going on. I had a similar situation where my build wouldn’t display anything, and a quick visit to the shop revealed it was just a faulty motherboard. Don’t pay too much, though. Just ask about their rates first!
I took my rig to some local shops, but they didn't know what to do. I'm thinking of trying to fix it myself if I can figure out what's wrong.
