I recently switched to a new Verizon router, and I'm noticing a huge drop in speed—from around 180 Mbps to less than 10 Mbps. There was an outage in my area, which led to me needing to replace my old router. My range extender worked fine with the old router, but now it's not performing well at all with the new one. Both routers look identical; they're the white rectangular Verizon ones, and I haven't changed any settings. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I’m getting around 280 Mbps on my phone from the same spot as the range extender, which is pretty good! But I get why you're concerned, especially since you rely on it for your desktop. Have you checked the distance and any walls in between? Sometimes, even slight changes in location can affect performance a lot.
Make sure that your extender is connected to the 5GHz band if your router supports dual-band. The 2.4GHz might be too congested or slower. Also, consider relocating the extender to see if that improves the signal.
It sounds like there could be a compatibility issue between your new router and range extender. Have you tried resetting the extender or checking if there's a firmware update for it? Sometimes a simple reset can resolve connectivity issues after a new router installation.
